Orange Paint, Mouse Droppings and Blue Shag Carpet

Our airstream may have been a beauty on the outside but the inside was a mess. The first thing to go was the white vinyl couch, the blue shag carpet, a few dead mice and the assorted mouse droppings left by our little friends who probably found a nice home the previous winter. Andy began working on a new interior design for the sleeping area and researched airstream designs from the sixties by way of the airstream forum website(http://www.airstreamforum.com/). His next major project was to strip the orange paint from all the doors and cabinets, a task that took months to complete. The electrical system needed little work but the bathroom plumbing had to be replaced. Andy replaced the floors with veneer wood strips that resemble hard wood floors, made an oak table top for the kitchen and painted the entire interior.I know there is so much more that he did but that will come later under restoration.

This summer we decided to make curtains or I decided and Andy made them. This is Andy cutting the material.
